Rinku Singh is a professional Indian cricketer who plays in the domestic circuit for Uttar Pradesh and is also currently a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise in the Indian Premier League. He is a left-handed batsman and a part-time right-arm off-spin bowler.

Rinku Singh Early Life & Journey

Rinku Singh was born on 12th October 1997 in Aligarh Uttar Pradesh to Khanchandra and Vina Devi. He is from a humble background, his father is an LPG delivery man and on another side, his brother is an auto-rickshaw driver. There are nine members in his family and they all live in a small two-room house located in the compound of the LPG distribution company.

When it comes to studies, he is a 9th fail and never had an interest in studies. He quit his studies and focused on cricket. He just started the following cricket and wanted to play for the Indian National Cricket team.

He has represented Uttar Pradesh at the under 16, under 19, under 23 level and also the central zone at under 19 levels. He made his List A debut when he played for Uttar Pradesh for the first time in March 2014 at the age of 16. He displayed his ability in his debut as he remained the top scorer in the match with a score of 83 runs. 2 years down the line he made his Ranji Trophy debut for Uttar Pradesh on 5 November 2016. By the time he had played 7 List A matches, he had managed to score 4 half-centuries and had successfully announced himself in the Indian Cricketing scene with his initial performances.

In the 2017 IPL auction Kings XI Punjab purchased Rinku Singh for 10 lakh rupees. Even though he did not play in any of the matches in that season but for him being picked in the Indian Premier League meant that his talent was recognised. After Rinku got selected in Kings XI Punjab squad for the Indian Premier League squad his father left the LPG distribution job.

He further got noticed by IPL franchises when he scored 91 of 31 balls in a campaign by Mumbai Indians. That explosive knock was the reason that Kolkata Knight Riders bought him in the 2018 Indian Premier League auction for 80 lakh rupees.
