India, Virat, Pant, T20 World Cup

Which are the most dangerous batters for India at the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024?

With the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 just around the corner and the IPL 2024 season also in its business end, the preparation time for the big tournament is just getting shorter. Almost all 20 teams have announced their 15-man squads that will fight for the elusive World Cup trophy starting June 2, 2024, and today we are going to have a look at the batting lineup of the Indian team and see who are the most dangerous batters in the men in blue camp.

Suryakumar Yadav

When someone is talking about batting in T20Is, the first name that comes to mind is Suryakumar Yadav. In the past three years or so, Suryakumar Yadav has completely changed how batting is approached in this format and shown everyone in the cricket world that with the right mindset and shot selection, anything is possible.

Having scored 300 runs in his last seven T20I matches at a strike rate of almost 165 and also having scored a fantastic century in the ongoing Indian Premier League season, he is definitely one of the batters India will rely upon, especially during the middle overs to tackle the spinners.

Virat Kohli

How is it possible that the talk is about batting and we don’t take the name of this man, Virat Kohli? There have been a lot of talks about his strike rate and intent in the shortest format of the game, but the run machine has silenced them all with his incredible form in the IPL, scoring the most runs (661) thus far at a strike rate of over 155.

The best thing about the king of cricket is that he lets his bat do the talking and has successfully put a finger on the mouths of all his critics. Kohli, who might be opening the innings at this World Cup, can surely be a dangerous batter for the bowlers.

Rishabh Pant

After a horrific accident, Pant was back on the cricket field after a rest of 16 months, and he was back with a bang. He batted with a lot of intent and played some excruciating shots to light up the tournament. Rishabh Pant showed why everyone was so eager to watch him bat again.

Pant had a phenomenal run in this IPL, scoring 446 runs at a strike rate of 155 in 13 innings. He will be critical to India’s chances in this World Cup, as he is that x-factor player who can win a match in any situation for his team.
