What is the lowest team total by Australia in a T20 World Cup match?
In the 28th match of the 2014 T20 World Cup in Mirpur, Australia registered their lowest ever team total in the history of the men’s T20 World Cup playing against India. The match was played on a turning wicket on March 30, 2014, where the Australian batters were victims to some high-quality bowling by the Indian bowlers, who displayed their exceptional skills and talent.
Australia won the toss in the match and invited India to bat first on a tricky pitch. The Indian batters showed excellent resolve and scored a total of 159 runs for the loss of seven wickets at the end of 20 overs. Yuvraj Singh was the best batter in that Indian innings, scoring 60 runs on 43 balls with the help of five boundaries and four huge hits off the ground.
The Aussie spinners bowled eight overs in total, where they got hit for 57 runs and took three wickets, which was a decent performance on a helpful track. Glenn Maxwell, who is a part-time bowler, was the best of the lot with figures of 4-0-20-1 at an economy rate of 5 runs per over.

The Kangaroos required 160 runs to win the match and beat India in Mirpur, but they were folded out for a low score of just 86 runs in 16.2 overs, which is their lowest score ever in the history of T20 World Cup matches.
The Australian innings never got going in the match, as the Indian bowlers kept it tight from the very beginning and did not give them any freebies to get a chance to make a comeback in the match. Only three players reached a score of double digits, and the rest of them were just a walking wicket for Ashwin and his men.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar started brilliantly with a spell of 3-0-7-1, and then the spinners took over. Ravichandran Ashwin was the pick of the lot with bowling figures of 3.2-0-11-4, as he also won the player of the match award. Ravindra Jadeja and Amit Mishra also took three wickets in total to bundle out Australia.
