Rohit Sharma Reveals He Was Trying to Hit Mosaddek Hossain For Six Sixes

Rohit Sharma, the stand-in captain of the Indian T20I team, has revealed that he was trying to hit Mosaddek Hossain for six sixes in the second match of the ongoing T20I series against Bangladesh.

Chasing the target of 154, India got off to a flyer of a start with Rohit smashing the Bangladeshi bowlers all over the park and setting India well on course of an easy victory.

As the breakthrough wasn’t coming from anywhere, the visiting skipper Mahmudullah decided to try the part-time bowler Mosaddek and Rohit was onto the off spinner straightaway.

Mosaddek came round the wicket and was trying to take the ball away from Rohit Sharma with the angle, but he didn’t get his lengths right. When he went full, he was too full and it was easy for Rohit to get under the ball.

When he dragged his length, he was too short and there was enough time for Rohit to transfer his weight on the back-foot.

After hitting the first three balls over the ropes, Rohit tried to go for it again on the 4th ball, but he couldn’t connect properly.

Speaking to the leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal on Chahal TV after the game, Rohit confirmed that his plan was to go for six sixes, but when he couldn’t get a six off the 4th ball, he decided to play the next two balls without taking too much of risk.

According to Rohit, he knew the ball wasn’t turning. So he didn’t use his feet to come out of the crease and reach the pitch of the ball. He stood inside his crease and tried to deliver from there.

“I had to go for six sixes, but when I missed the 4th ball, I didn’t go for it off the next two balls.” Rohit said on Chahal TV.

India beat Bangladesh easily by 8 wickets to level the series 1-1.
