Former Pakistani skipper Mohammad Hafeez retired from the longest form of the game in 2018 so that he could focus on the limited-overs cricket. However, Hafeez recently said he is ready to don the white colour for Pakistan again if his team needs him during the upcoming England Tour.

Pakistan will be touring England during the upcoming test series and that will be the first series that they will be playing during the pandemic time.

Recently former cricketer and commentator of Pakistan Ramiz Raza asked Hafeez and Malik to retire gracefully from the game now so that it can pave the way for the youngster.

As Ramiz said in detail “They should leave international cricket with respect and gracefully. I think if they retire now it will help Pakistan cricket. We have a good pool of players and we must move ahead,”.

As Hafeez hits him back during a press conference where he talked about his retirement and Pakistan cricket in general as he stated that “Ramiz Raja is free to express his opinion but my decision to play cricket or retire is not dependent on anyone’s advice. If there comes any situation for me to play Test cricket on England tour then I’m available,”.

He further added that “Players should not be discarded from the team based on their age. Only performance and fitness should be the criteria of selection,” he added.

Hafeez concluded by speaking on the recent rule that ICC has introduced that will make the game difficult for bowlers which are restricting the use of saliva on a cricket ball and he is against the rule and expressed his thoughts in detail where he said “I think cricket has lost its charm due to new regulations amid Covid-19 but we will have to accept these and move on, Criticising these rules, such as the ban on saliva, is not the right thing to do,” said the right-hander.”.
