Men’s Hockey World Cup Live Updates: Why FIH is monitoring on-field players injury?

Indian hockey

The current Men’s Hockey World Cup is in full swing, with things going in India’s favour. They will face Wales next in a game they must win to take first place in Pool D.

India has provided their best effort to this prestigious event thus far, and going forward in the competition, tremendous things will be expected of them.

In order to comprehend the pattern of those on-field disasters, we need to talk more about this tournament and the player injuries we witnessed.

“We want to see how serious these injuries are and examine whether there is a way to reduce these. We are analyzing whether it’s happening when the players are tiring out, resulting in a collision, towards the end of a match. The mechanism is there (to address injury issues) but we want to make it better and foolproof.” said Dr Nayak, currently serving as the director of National Sports Science Research Centre held in Delhi.

The International Olympic Committee(IOC) had given permission to FIH to conduct the process smoothly and there were few apprehensions in the beginning but everything is going smoothly later.

The reason for carrying this research was to understand the template which is forcing several injuries to happen which include weather conditions of different types- hot and humid, cold and miscellnous factors which can come into existence.

It is extremely important to understand these patterns as it will help to understand the kind of injuries players are going through under different circumstances and how these injuries can impact the career of distinct players.
