The current FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023 is ready to kick off in Bhubaneshwar and Rourkela, where host India will face off against Spain at 7 o’clock in the evening.
Given Spain’s inexperienced squad, India is anticipated to win today, but in the game of hockey, tactical acumen is necessary in crucial situations.
There will be 44 matches between 16 teams, with 24 matches taking place in Bhubaneswar and 20 matches taking place in Rourkela.
The four teams are divided into four groups, each of which will play an initial round in league stage format with the best teams from each pool advancing automatically to the following round.

When all of the league stage matches are completed, the teams that placed second and third in each pool advance to the cross over stage.
The contest between the teams in second and third place will be important because only the victor advances to the next round.
The quarterfinals, semi-final, and championship match will all be played in the following round.
The wait is finally over! It is the opening day of the FIH Odisha Hockey Men's World Cup 2023 and it brings along 4 high-octane clashes. #HWC2023

The main event will come to an end at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubneswar on January 29, 2022.
India has only only won one FIH World Cup, in 1975, while Ajit Pal Singh served as captain. They will be trying to restore their glory after a 45-year absence.
India lost its hockey dominance in 1980 when the sport moved from a green field to an artificial turf pitch, but they turned things around in the final FIH World Cup, where they earned bronze after a 40-year absence, under Manpreet Singh’s direction.
