Australian batsman Marnus Labuschagne on Wednesday said that he wishes to prepare himself enough to represent Australia across all formats of the game.

The 26-year-old made his debut for Australia during the Ashes series last year as he replaced injured Steve Smith. Since then, he has wreaked havoc in the Test cricket with his impeccable batting. He was also one of the stars of Australia during their dominating summer last year.

Labuschagne said that he is also working on his bowling skills so as to fit in the ODI team permanently.

“It doesn`t matter what the format is, I want to get better,” Labuschagne told reporters.

“Definitely some areas in one-day cricket I`m continuing to develop are my bowling, making sure I get a bit more consistent and become a better option for the skipper with the ball in those middle overs. I also want to keep working on my batting at the death.” he further stated.

Labuschagne has been named in the 21-man squad for the limited-overs series against England starting from September 4. After making his ODI debut against India earlier this year, Labuschange impressed the selectors and hence he got a place in the upcoming series.

He averages 63.43 in 14 tests while his average in the ODI is 50.83 after playing 7 ODIs so far.
