She will be keenly looking to replicate the same performance in the Upcoming mega event.

In her latest win, Humpy displayed a masterclass in strategic play. She entered a complicated middle game by sacrificing material for long-term initiative—an approach few dare to take unless confident in their foresight. With precise calculation, she unleashed a powerful kingside assault. Her Queen maneuver to f3 set the tone, later placing her rook dominantly on the h-file, and her advanced pawns on the e, f, and g files created an unbreakable formation. She even tactically repositioned her pieces to B8, providing essential cover for her castled king.

Now, Humpy sets her sights on Zhu Jiner, her opponent for the upcoming 7th round on Monday. The chess fraternity will be watching closely, as she aims to carry this momentum forward into the latter half of the tournament. Her wealth of experience and deep understanding of the game continue to inspire a new generation of Indian chess enthusiasts, solidifying her place as a true legend in the sport.
