India vs Bangladesh 1st Test: Visitors in Trouble after they bundled out on 149 runs against Host

The ongoing Test series between India and Bangladesh has reached a crucial stage in Chennai, where the Indian team displayed an impressive performance, scoring 376 runs in their first innings. This formidable total was anchored by remarkable contributions from all-rounders R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, who led the charge with their resilient innings. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, India’s middle and lower order ensured that the team posted a competitive score on the board.

Bangladesh, entering the match with high confidence after a historic Test series win against Pakistan, found themselves in a tough spot against the Men in Blue. The visitors may have expected to ride their recent success into this match, but touring India is always a daunting challenge for any international side. India, known for their dominance on home soil, especially in the longest format of the game, posed a significant hurdle for Bangladesh right from the start.

As I pen this article, the Indian bowlers have already dismantled Bangladesh’s batting lineup, restricting them to a modest total of just 149 runs. This has given India a commanding lead of over 200 runs, putting them firmly in the driver’s seat as the match progresses. The Indian bowlers, led by the experienced Ashwin and supported by the rest of the attack, did not give the Bangladesh batters much breathing space, consistently applying pressure and picking up wickets.

In the second innings, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal have already taken the crease, with India managing to put up 15 runs on the board without losing any wickets. The Indian team will undoubtedly aim to extend their lead to over 400 runs, ensuring that Bangladesh faces a monumental task when they come out to bat again. The intent is clear — to set a massive target and leave the visitors with little hope of making a comeback in the match. If India’s bowlers continue their fine form, a series win looks well within their grasp.
