India Shines at Asian Table Tennis Championships
India had a successful campaign at the Asian Table Tennis Championships, securing three medals. These included a historic bronze in the women’s doubles, a bronze in the women’s team event, and a bronze in the men’s team event.
Women’s Doubles
The Indian women’s doubles pair of Ayhika Mukherjee and Sutirtha Mukherjee reached the semifinals, a remarkable achievement considering they had defeated the reigning world champions from China in the Asian Games last year. However, they fell short against Japan’s Miwa Harimoto and Miyuu Kihara in the semifinals. Despite the loss, their journey to the semifinals marked India’s first-ever women’s doubles medal at the Asian meet.
