After a thorough analysis of the time allowances, ICC came to this conclusion. The players were also fined 20% of their respective match fees as disclosed in Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct that if a team is unable to comply with the allotted time to bowl overs, there will be repercussions.
There was no need for any hearing regarding this case as Indian Captain Rohit Sharma admitted their offence to the umpires of the match.
This penalty is coming in the back of an underwhelming bowling performance with every bowler going for more than at least 40 runs. Mohammad Siraj was the best bowler for India as picked up 4 wickets with an outstanding economy of 4.6 in his 10 overs.

In terms of Batting, those 20-30 runs extra in the death overs helped India pick up a very close win. The target of 350 was mainly powered by Shubhman Gill’s 200 and short cameos by Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav.
