Delhi Capitals co-owner wants to know the reason behind Rishabh Pant’s exclusion

Rishabh Pant was welcomed into the team as the future replacement of former Indian skipper and wicketkeeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He was given an ample amount of games and opportunities to prove his worth to the team, but unfortunately, he failed to grab those opportunities with both hands.

In some of the recent games, whenever Pant used to do a mistake, the crowd would go berserk and start chanting “We want Dhoni.” A lot of people have asked about the future of Rishabh Pant and the Indian management seems to have no answer to that.

The latest entrant to question the management is none than Parth Jindal, the co-owner of IPL franchise Delhi Capitals. Jindal is not happy with the exclusion of Pant from the team and shared that it is quite unfortunate that a player like Pant is sitting out and warming the bench.

Taking it to Twitter, Jindal further added that the youngster should be have got some games during the series against New Zealand as he could have benefited from playing in Kiwi conditions.

“And why carry @RishabhPant17 only for him to warm the bench? Surely he would have benefited from playing against New Zealand A or domestic cricket? To see a player as talented as him not play the 5th T20 and now the 3rd ODI makes no sense #Xfactor,” Jindal wrote.

Pant has been an integral part of Delhi Capitals and played some swashbuckling knocks for the team in the previous edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Jindal did not stop there and also posed a question on the exclusion of veteran Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. The business mogul explained that the current Indian side needs a match-winner like Ashwin to claim wickets when they are needed the most.

“Don’t know why @ashwinravi99 is not in this team! There seems to be an aversion to wicket-takers! After whitewashing the kiwis in T20’s the Kiwis showing India that the semi-final victory in the World Cup was no fluke. India needs wicket-takers and players with X factor,” Jindal wrote in a tweet.

Ashwin’s last series came against Bangladesh where he picked up 5 wickets in 2 Tests. However, he might be playing in the Test series against the Black Caps, starting from February 21.
