When India and Australia fight for the test mace in the World Test Championship Final at The Kennington Oval Stadium, London, there will be a lot of inner battles that will be fought between some players. There will be some match-ups too which is going to be really exciting.
We talked about the batting line-ups of both teams in our previous article and what challenges they will have to face and here we will talk about the bowling attacks of India and Australia and how could they play a huge role in their team’s win.
It is very obvious that the conditions during the final will be favorable for bowlers as the match is in England where bowlers rule and the overcast conditions help them become more lethal and dangerous.
Both teams have excellent bowling attacks and as we discussed it is not going to be an easy task at all for the batters but the bowlers will still need to use the conditions to their advantage and bowl well because otherwise the batting line-ups of both India and Australia have established batters in their ranks and they will take no time to take control of things.
India will most probably go in with a three-man pace attack and two spinners which will include Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Shardul Thakur. There is a doubt between Shardul and Umesh Yadav but I feel Shardul will play as he offers a lot more with the bat too if the situation arises.
Australia’s bowling attack will be a three-man pace attack comprising Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazelwood along with an off-spinner in Nathan Lyon. Cameron Green will play the role of a fifth bowler and Travis Head can also roll his arm if the need comes.
India will miss the services of Jasprit Bumrah, their ace bowler, but they still have the resources to get the job done and the plus point for them is the form of Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj.
Both teams will look forward to taking 20 wickets in the match as it will play a huge role in deciding where the ICC Test Mace goes. The bowlers will have to just get the basics right and use the conditions well because it is highly likely that the better bowling team in the match will win the match and the ICC World Test Championship 2023.
