“I think Carlos Alcarez handles………” said Top Tennis Coach ahead of Mexican Tennis Open 2023 main draw

Carlos Alcarez

Carlos Alcarez has distinguished himself as one of the sport’s best players, and the Association of Tennis Professionals now has him ranked second in the Men’s Singles division (ATP).

His ability to successfully win the US Open in 2022 and two masters 1000 titles after doing so at the age of 19 places him on the highest pedestal.

He has now won three consecutive titles on the ITF World Tennis Circuit since he first entered the senior circuit in 2018.

With his continuous Tennis Circuit play, he made slow but steady progress towards breaking into the top 100 rankings in May 2021.

He eventually advanced to his first ATP final at the Croatia Open in 2021 after making it repeatedly inside the top 100.

Talking about the latest development, the nature of competitions at the forefront, Alcarez must manage pressure and the value of audience expectations.

“I think Carlos is someone that handles the pressure well but I think he’ll have pressure. Maybe, he doesn’t realise yet but when he will be there, having to defend titles, having been No. 1 in the world with all the expectations that come with it, he’ll feel it and it’s normal,” Mouratoglou said.

“He has to defend, and Rio, Miami, Madrid, Barcelona. It’s an incredible amount of points that he’ll have to defend. I believe that he doesn’t think about the rankings and the points or that he will, …but more his status. I’m here, I won last year, I beat most of the best players in the world.”

The French Open, Wimbeldon, and US Open are the first major slams that Alcarez will have to contend with. The ace players who have wonderfully risen through the ranks of Nadal can successfully handle his legacy in years to come.
