GT20 Canada 2023: Brampton Wolves Beats Mississauga Panthers in Inaugural Match
The Brampton Wolves defeated the Mississauga Panthers by 52 runs in the inaugural match of the 2023 Global T20 Canada tournament on Friday. The Mississauga Panthers put on to bat first and scored 121 in their 20 overs.
The whole team were all out at a below-par score. Azam Khan top-scored for the Panther with his stunning 65-run inning off 55 balls, while Navneet Dhaliwal gathered 29 runs off 32 balls.

Logan Van Beek was the pick of the bowlers for Wolves, clicking 4 major wickets for 12 runs in his 4 overs of spell whereas Chris Green got 2 wickets. Both the bowlers restricted Panther to 121.
After restricting the Panthers to a low total of 121, the Wolves’ openers came to bat with confidence and amassed runs at a good pace. Although Usman Khan was dismissed in quick haste, However, his co-opener Aaron Johnson stood and pulled in a scintillating inning of unbeaten 48 off just 26 to help his team achieve the total in 9 overs as per the D/L method.
Mark Chapman was another batter who contributed an unbeaten 30 runs to help his team reach the target of 99 runs in just 9 overs.
The Global T20 Canada is a six-team tournament featuring some of the best international cricketers from around the world. The tournament is being played at the CAA Centre in Brampton, Ontario.
The final of the GT20 Canada will be played on August 6.
