Furia Esports were crowned as the winner of Gamers8 title

So the first champion of Gamers8 has been crowned with FURIA esports decided as the winner of the marque event. 

The competition was conducted in the sell-out crowd at Boulevard Riyadh City’s spectacular Esports arena where the South African side defeated Guild Esports by 4-0 in the best of seven rounds to collect whopping prize money of  $500,000.

“As the first international elite tournament series to headline our professional Esports calendar, all parties involved with Gamers8 had high expectations ahead of Rocket League, from our partners and us as organizers, to the attendees and players themselves. And tonight, when reflecting on an incredible four days, Rocket League has unquestionably surpassed these expectations, setting an envious standard for the competitions that follow.

There was non stop entertainment throughout fourth and final day of Rocket League where the jaw dropping moments were witnessed in the crunch phase of the game where the newly crowned winners earned final spot with 4-3 win over local Saudi franchise. 

Furia Esports absorbed pressure pretty well in the night of the final where thousands turned in attendance and many were glued to television screen on Gamers8 channels to root for their favourite side.

“We’re proud to be the first South American team to win a tournament of this magnitude, especially in this unique format. The game against Team Falcons was incredibly difficult as we had to adapt to their playing style, but we managed to maintain our composure and confidence to deliver the win.”

“It was such a great pleasure taking part in this tournament, we didn’t know what to expect in Saudi Arabia, but the fans were amazing and the venue looked incredible with the very impressive screen walls,” said Wesley William Silva current coach of Furia Esports stated. 

24 teams participated for Rocket League which started on Thursday with group stages where the teams bagging first three positions won whooping amount of $500,000, $300,000, $200,000 respectively.
