With the Tests and ODI series done and dusted, West Indies would not be too much disappointed with the results, having won the Test series 2-1 and level the ODI series 2-2, while team England didn’t enjoy much success in the Caribbean with the T-20 series still left to be played before they head back to home.
Favorites for T-20 Series
West Indies playing with all their T-20 specialists in their most loved format are certainly looking favorites keeping in mind England’s poor form in T-20s in the last couple of years. England have lost 14 of their last 31 T-20 matches, concentrating entirely on the 50-over format. What’s added to their misery is England have sent most of their mainstays with the likes of Joss Buttler, Jason Roy, Moeen Ali, and Ben Stokes home, giving them adequate rest ahead of the showpiece event.

Chris Gayle
Without thinking twice, Chris Gayle is our number one player. The Universal boss is in outstanding form and certainly showing his mettle at the twilight of his career. The tall left-hander has played one of the best ODI series of his career, scoring 2 centuries and 2 half-centuries in the series. Moreover, the action hasn’t ended yet as the West Indies star is likely to hammer England to all parts in the three-match T-20 series against England, beginning from Tuesday.

Carlos Brathwaite
Just before the start of the World Cup in England, West Indies dynamic all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite has been looking to bring back his form. Braithwaite bowled well in the ODI series and also looked good with the bat in the fourth ODI, scoring an important half-century in just 36 deliveries. The right-hander didn’t get the opportunity to bat in the fifth ODI. Carlos certainly ranks at the top of our all-rounder list.

With England’s most of the mainstays gone back to home, skipper Eoin Morgan becomes even more important player in the series. He is certainly the top player from the England side. Morgan has to come good if England would like to fancy their chances in the series.
- Jason Holder
West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder has now taken over the T-20 captaincy from Carlos Braithwaite, making him even more important in our eleven. Since the time he took over the captaincy in the ODIs, the right-handed all-rounder’s career graph has only grown upwards. One would expect him to play a major role in the series.
- Jonny Bairstow
England aren’t playing with their full strength in the T-20 series with four of their potent players gone back home. England’s opener Jonny Bairstow has been in a superb form and we recommend you not to take the risk of dropping such explosive batsman from your eleven.
- Shimron Hetmyer
Proper Technique, good cricketing shots, plus the ability to strike those mammoth sixes, West Indies batsman Shimron Hetmyer is one for the future. Hetmyer has a pretty decent ODI series, scoring 141 runs in four matches. He is our fourth batsman in the eleven.
- Sheldon Cottrell
Having played only 10 ODIs till now, Sheldon Cottrell has become West Indies lead bowler, courtesy a splendid bowling performance from the left-handed bowler, picking up as many as 6 wickets in three matches.

Pitch Conditions
The pitch for the first T-20 is the same as that was used in the last ODI. For those unaware, that was very bouncy and carried through to the keeper nicely. Gayle’s innings told a different story though.
