With 74 international centuries under his belt, Virat Kohli has elevated himself to the status of all-time great in all three formats.
Tendulkar’s record of 100 international hundreds is likely to be soon surpassed by him.
A lot has been gained for Indian cricket thanks to Kohli’s expertise because he is also renowned for injecting new life into cricket’s longest format.
He leads teams to incredible success in Test cricket, but when he decided to stand away from that position, the fans were not happy.
“Scoring 25,000 International runs is no joke, and he comes in list of those hitter who scored in all conditions,” Gautam Gambhir said when discussing Kohli’s influence in Test cricket.
If Shane Warne bowled the ball of the century, the 5th ball @imVkohli six is arguably shot of the century! Tendulkar at Sharjah, Dhoni at Wankhede, now Kohli in Melbourne: immortal moments by cricketers who have transcended their sport! Salute!🙏🙏👍#Kohli pic.twitter.com/BLIyoFNXEV

“The impact he has across all surfaces is incredible,” continued Gambhir, “and whether he breaks Tendulkar’s record or not, the way he has advanced in his International career is phenomenal.”

Kohli has found his mojo back with the willow in ODI and T20I cricket but the only format where he has to yield century is Test cricket and fans would be expecting to do wonders in the longest format considering two more matches are in pipeline.
The next encounter between India and Australia is all set to take place at Holkar Stadium Indore on March 1st 2023.
