Coronavirus hit Everton: Entire squad put in quarantine | Callum Hudson-Odoi also tests positive

Everton have confirmed that the entire squad is in self-isolation, including coaches and the assorted staffs after one of the players showed symptoms of coronavirus.

The club also said that it is closely monitoring the situation and is taking every set possible that the infected player, who the club refused to name at this moment, get the full medical support, while the well-being of other players is also taken care of.

The Merseyside outfit released the following statement:

Everton’s next home game against Liverpool scheduled for this weekend has also been postponed. In fact, the Premier League announced, after the latest development, that no football matches will be played across England until April 4.

Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta contracted the virus:

On Thursday, Arsenal announced that head coach Mikel Arteta also contracted the novel Covid-19 virus, and the former Everton player has been asked to self-isolate as a result.

“This is really disappointing,” said 37-year-old Spaniard.

“I took the test after feeling poorly. I will be at work as soon as I’m allowed.”

Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi also tested positive:

Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi is the first English top-flight player to have been tested positive for the Covid-19 virus which has brought the whole world to a standstill.

“Chelsea men’s team player Callum Hudson-Odoi had a positive test result for Coronavirus returned this evening,” the Blues released a statement on their website.

Chelsea closed their training ground after the recent development and also confirmed that the players and the staff who were in recent close contact with Odoi will be put in quarantine.

“We will continue to adhere to Government and Public Health Guidelines with regard to our facilities and staff and will be discussing next steps with regards to upcoming fixtures with the Premier League on Friday morning. We will provide further updates as necessary via the club’s website.”

Later today, Hudson posted a video on his twitter saying that he was feeling fine, and will recover soon.
