Joshua Phillippe brilliance takes Sydney Sixers to a 7 wicket win over Adelaide Strikers played at Coffs Harbour on Sunday.

Adelaide Strikers captain Alex Carey won the bat flip and decided to bat first. Jake Weatherald got the team off to a flying start with aggressive stroke putting pressure on Sixers bowlers. Jackson Bird made a breakthrough for Sixers getting the dangerous Weatherald. Philp Salt and Alex Carey took Adelaide Strikers to 56 for 1 at the end of six overs.

When things were looking dangerous for Sixers, Pope dismissed Salt for 25. Salt and Carey added 47 runs for the 2nd wicket. It was a disciplined bowling effort by Sixers bowlers to restrict the run flow. Jonathan Wells came to the crease and hit a quickfire 40 off 28 balls. Neser and Rashid Khan hit quick-fire knocks to help Adelaide Strikers post 176 for 6 in 20 overs.

In reply to 177 runs to win, Joshua Phillpe and Justin Avenando got Sydney Sixers off to a steady start putting pressure on Strikers bowlers. At the end of six overs, Sixers openers scored 47 for 0.

After the power play overs, Phillipe and Avenando made the batting look easy. Conway got the breakthrough for Strikers getting the wicket of Avenando for 47 off 33 balls. Sixers openers added 72 in 8.3 overs. Joshua Phillipe looked positive against Rashid Khan and made the batting look easy. Daniel Hughes impressed with his stroke play. Khan dismissed Hughes to give some respite for Strikers. Hughes and Phillipe added 51 runs for the 2nd wicket. Phillipe reached his fifty off 36 balls. In the 16th over, Phillipe was dropped and then the advantage of the chance.

Peter Siddle gave away 7 runs in the 18th over and dismissed James Vince for 13. With 25 runs required off last 2 overs, Phillppe smashed Neser 2 fours and 1 six to dent Adelaide Striker hopes of winning the match. Tom Curran hit the winning shot to help Sydney Sixers register a 7 wicket win with 3 balls to spare.
