Former Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza along with two other cricketers have been tested positive for the dreaded Coronavirus.
The 36-year-old Mortaza was reportedly unwell for the last couple of days and tested positive for Coronavirus on Saturday. Currently, he is living in self-isolation in his residence.
Mortaza who has played 36 Tests, 220 ODIs, and 54 T20s for Bangladesh wrote on his Facebook page on Saturday evening where he said “Today my Covid-19 results came as positive. Everyone, please pray for my quick recovery,”.
He further added that “The number of infected has now crossed one lakh. We all have to become more careful. Let’s all stay at home, and not get out unless it is necessary. I am abiding by the protocol at home. Rather than panic, we need to raise awareness about the corona.“.
Mortaza is equally active in politics as he is a regular member of Parliament and was doing great social work during this pandemic time as he was lending help to the people in his hometown and constituency Narail.
The two other cricketers who have been tested positive for novel coronavirus is Nazmul Islam and Nafees Iqbal.
Left-arm spinner Islam was involved in distributing food and other supplies in his home town Narayanganj which is the most affected area in Bangladesh as per the reports published on Daily Star Newspaper.
The same newspaper reported about former Bangaladesh Cricketer Nafees Iqbal who is the elder brother of current ODI Captain Tamim Iqbal. Both the cricketers are in self-isolation at their residence.
Taking about cases in Bangladesh it is increasing alarmingly as more than 1,00,000 lakh people have been affected by the virus with 1400 people deceased till date which is unfortunate as vaccination is the ultimate need of the World. The more it gets delayed more repercussions it will have on humans.
