Asia Cup U-19 Women’s News: Indian Women’s Qualifies for the Event after 20 years
A great news coming up from Indian Women’s Football Team as they have qualified for AFC U-20 Asia Cup for the first time, as the last time which qualified came in 2006 which is not an easy feat all considering the current situation of Indian Football.
Dwelling into the developments on how they have qualified in the marquee event which was held in Thaliand, it all started with Mynammar where they played 0-0 draw game followed by 7-0 victory against Turkmenistan and last match where they won against Thailand where they won the contest by 1-0 and the lone goal came from Pooja.
Dwelling Further, attacking brand of football was played by them and this victory is extra special considering current uncertainity scenario around Men’s Football Team.
There is too much happening in Indian Football team whether it is related to quality of football, tapping talent from grassroot level everything has taken a toll and several coaches have already resigned from their post midway instead they should have continued.
India’s Both Football league as ISL and I-League is losing its charm especially the former whose marketing partner is in altercation with Indian Football, regarding MRA(Maximum Rights Agreement) where the same needs to be revised as PER FSDL( Football Sports Development Limited) which is Joint venture of Reliance and Star Sports.

Currently AIFF is either charging 50 crore annually from all ISL clubs at the same time all these franchise are operating on loss model they are hardly making money.
So FSDL marketing partner want’s revise in the plan so that Clubs can get maximum benefit.
The meeting was held, where again there was no clarity however President Kalyan Chaubey stated that ” Everything has been sorted firstly we will play Super Cup followed by I-League” and immediately another statement came from club ceo “Nothing is sorted, there is no sense of organizing Super Cup first ahead of ISL if there is no clarity on the later”.
Dwelling deep into this further it seems that, no possible solutions has been found which can possibly uplift Indian Football from this deadly crisis.
The only way problems related to Indian Football could be solved if systems are built in place and it is followed on regular basis also the grassroot talent should be tapped on consistent basis.
In order to elevate the standard of National team Overseas Players or Person of Indian Origin should be allowed to wear Blue color where they can use their vital experience of playing in overseas clubs and the same could be channelized in Indian Football.
The current crop of players doesn’t have any insecurity or concern if they don’t play they would not be replaced considering they are the best choice option at the moment.
Let’s see whether India adopts this system or not in order for them to allow Overseas Players to take part in the mega event they need to make changes in their clause.
If Ministry of Sports allows Overseas Players to represent India things can change wonderfully in favor of Indian team.
So far the clouds looks absolutely dark at all with no light at the end of the tunnel.
After the Appointment of Khalid Jamil, it seems that Indian Football might see some good days but the biggest problem is timings as he would be joining Indian team during CAFA Nations Cup and AFC Asia Cup Qualifier which wouldn’t be easy task for him.
The All India Football Federation needs to stick with him as the former have yielded great results for I-League clubs like Aizwal FC who won title in the year 2017 apart from that he has successfully guided North East United FC and Jamshedpur FC in the semifinal, and he would be expected to ignite same magic in Upcoming Edition.
