#5 Being Gracious In Defeats
It’s not that Virat has experienced only success in his career, he has seen failures too, but whenever he has had to deal with a failure, he has been very gracious.
Normally people think of Virat as someone who likes to express himself on the field a bit more than the other players do, which is true, but he also knows how to carry himself after a setback.
Following India’s devastating defeats in the Champions Trophy 2017 final and the ODI World Cup 2019 semi-final, Virat kept a check on his emotions.
Not only was he very quick to go and congratulate the opposition, he faced the press with a clear view of the situation and with a firm attitude. He didn’t shy away from the questions.
Virat Kohli knew he was the leader of the side and he needed to be a rock for his players. If his shoulders had gone down, the players would have nobody to look up to.
