Wrestling Protest Latest Updates: Voice raised on social media to remove WFI chief amid ongoing tussle

WFI issues

Things are not going well in Indian Wrestling as the sports has been in the news for wrong resons from last few days.

It all started with 30 Wrestlers leveling charges against WFI Chief amid sexual allegations, money issue and other miscellnous factor.

The team of wrestlers met Sports Minister Anurag Thakur at his residence recently to discuss about the reforms they want to bring in Indian wrestling community.

After an investigation, who is right and who is wrong will be decided. WFI Chief Brij Bhushan Singh has stated that he will not step down from his position and is available for examination.

Wrestlers demand a total regime change and the appointment of new leaders.

Vineesh Phogat recently addressed a letter to IOA Chief PT Usha regarding all the incidents taking place in the wrestling community and the changes that need to be made to the system as it is currently set up.

Let me share some social media reactions:

According to sources in various media, wrestlers are dissatisfied with their meeting with the sports minister, and the ministry has requested a response from a WFI official regarding all the charges.

Another allegation from many media outlets claims that despite a commitment made to wrestlers, the TATA Group has not yet delivered the promised sum of money.

According to a different angle on the story from several sources, some wrestlers are prohibited from directly entering into sponsorship agreements with private companies; instead, they must first confer with the WFI before doing so, and only then can they do so with the national governing body.

Only time will be able to determine who is right and who is wrong about these charges, whether they come from wrestlers or WFI officials. let’s find it post investigation.
