Penta Esports are aiming to clock gross revenue of Rs 10-15 crore at the end of FY 2022. This information was confirmed by Anurag Khurana, Founder and CEO of Penta Esports while taking to one of the media outlets.
“This year, we expect much more participation from brands as well as streaming platforms, enabling us to break-even by the end of this fiscal,” he said.
The FY2022 was the first year of operations for Penta Esports and they claimed to earn around Rs 2 crore where they have recently invested Rs 1.5 crore in Penta Amateur League.
Along with this company is claiming to create 20 hours of content from the tournament which also include four hours of short form video.
The Platform has also generated four IPs – Kofee with Kiran, Esports in 5 and Penta Shorts. In the upcoming years they are looking to plan 10 more IPs.
The company is also looking beyond more Leagues like Penta Amateur League will be launching two new league- Collegiate League and Professional League. Taking more about Penta Amateur league, they held six tournaments across PC, Console and mobile devices.
“We started Penta Esports with a focus on engaging gamers at the grassroot level and enabling them to go to professional leagues. The only criteria we had for participation was that none of the players will be a professional level player. We want to give the spotlight to amateurs and semi professionals,” Khurana stated.
Their major source of revenue comes from media rights, brand sponsorships and advertisement revenue.
“Our major source of revenue was brand sponsorship last fiscal as we could not leverage our media rights since we were streaming the tournaments on our channels. For us, the whole purpose of partnering with Loco and Booyah was to get the reach to spread the message about the tournament,” Khurana concluded.
