The Indian bowling attack shared the spoils effectively, with Anureet Singh (3-33) being the pick of the bowlers. Irfan Pathan (1-12) and Pawan Negi (1-24) also chipped in with crucial wickets, restricting Pakistan to a below-par total.

Chasing a modest target of 157 runs, India also lost their openers Robin Uthappa (10) and Suresh Raina (4) within the powerplay overs. However, the experienced Ambati Rayudu (50) played a crucial role in rebuilding the innings. He stitched together a vital partnership of 60 runs with Yuvraj Singh (15*) that stabilized the chase.
After Rayudu’s dismissal, Gurkeerat Singh Mann (34) and Yusuf Pathan (30) continued the momentum with some aggressive strokeplay. The turning point came in the 18th over when Yusuf Pathan was dismissed by Wahab Riaz. However, the ever-reliable Irfan Pathan (5*) along with Yuvraj Singh ensured India crossed the finish line with 5 balls to spare.
Despite being on the losing side, Pakistan’s Aamer Yamin had a fantastic performance. He picked up 2 crucial wickets, dismissing Robin Uthappa and Suresh Raina early in the chase. His bowling figure of 2-29 was impressive, but it was ultimately overshadowed by India’s strong batting display.
