There are those who succumb to the pressure then there are some who bring out their best under pressure. We have come across many come back or come up stories in world of Sports and each and everyone is special in their own journey.

In this feature we will be shedding light to the galvanizing come up story of Para Badminton athlete Manasi Joshi who has come a long way since meeting a deadly accident a decade ago in 2011. She was lucky enough to walk away alive but Manasi lost her left leg in that unfortunate road accident.

The 33-year-old had to undergo 6 surgeries which included 2 amputated operations. Since then, Manasi has embarked upon an incredible journey and reversed her curse into a blessing after turning into a Para Badminton player. After getting an alternate leg it took her 3 years to become a professional disabled athlete.

In 2019, Manasi Joshi became Para Badminton Gold medalist in SL3 Women’s category. Most of us weak-hearted people would have felt happy to just walk after an injury of that sort but the Joshi was not satisfied with it. She wanted more so she locked herself in and made an exemplary effort.

For those who are unaware, Manasi Joshi has been advocating disable rights and she is herself a monumental figure among that particular set of people. Back in 2020, she became the first Indian athlete to feature in the front page of TIME Magazine and also received an unique Doll by Barbie which appeared pretty much like her.

In a recent interview, Manasi Joshi spoke about her set back and the consequent come backs alongside her journey to win Para Badminton world championship gold medal. “Unfortunately, in 2011, I met a road accident which led to amputation. I was 22. I was going to office. I was about to complete a year in office. It was sad but badminton, a sport which I loved since my childhood, it motivated me and I once again started playing it.” – said Manasi Joshi.Â
