The Oval Invincibles cruised to a 5-wicket victory against Trent Rockets in Mens Hundred Competiton on Monday. Sam Billings was the star of the show for he hit an unbeaten 76 from 40 balls as Oval Invincibles sealed their place in the competition.
The Invincibles captain came in at 21-3 and took the attack to the Rockets bowlers, hitting 5 fours and 5 sixes. He put on a crucial partnership of 73 with Will Jacks (31) to help his side chase down the Rockets’ total of 148-7 with eight balls to spare.
Billings’ innings was a timely return to form for the England international, who had struggled with the bat in recent weeks. He had averaged just 12.5 in his previous seven innings in The Hundred, but he rediscovered his touch against the Rockets to help his side lead in the game against the Rockets.
