Contribution of Matthew Carter:
Matthew Carter certainly gave a dream start to Trent Rockets, and on the basis of that, they were able to win the match.
- The first wicket for Trent Rockets was of Will Smeed, who got run out. However, the danger for Trent Rockets was still there, because on the crease were Jamie Smith, and Liam Livingstone.
- This is where Matthew Carter played the biggest role in the match. He went on to take the wicket of Jamie Smith, who was looking in great touch. Smith had already scored 38 runs off 22 balls. In that innings, he had hit 2 sixes and 2 fours. That is the reason his wicket was certainly very important for Trent Rockets.
- The job was still not over because the score was 72-4 off 57 balls. That is when Chris Benjamin came out at the crease. His wicket was certainly important, because if he had got settled, then that could have been problematic.
- Matthew Carter clean bowled Chris Benjamin, when the team score was 90. After his wicket, it was clear that Trent Rockets were going to win the game.
In this match of the Hundred Mens Competition, Matthew Carter won the Man of the Match award. But Daniels Sams also gave a brilliant contribution of 3 wickets. He was not able to win the Player of the Series award, still, there is no doubt that without his contribution, Trent Rockets would not have been able to win.
