Last 2 years has been pretty bad for Sri Lankan cricket who are struggling at the moment and there is a popular saying in English that “There is an absolute calmness before the storm approaches” and that moment happened in the recently concluded three match T20 series against England where the Lankan player didn’t show grit and determination to win games it was looking like a club level team is playing against mammoth English side in their backyard.

A video surfaced on social media where two Sri Lankan players including the likes of Niroshan Dickwella and Kushal Mendis were on the road it was reported that another fellow player Danushka Gunathilka was also involved with them who violated COVID-19 rules in England.

These players were asked by Sri Lankan cricket Board to fly back home and they are currently staying in the hotel in Colombo where will they will be isolating for 14 days.

As per the latest developments, Sri Lankan cricket Board took a harsh call and have suspended all three players for 1 year which means that they will not be part of upcoming limited over series against India.

Danushka Gunathilka is a bright talent when it comes to cricket and building innings but lack disciplinary issue in the past also he was given warning

Currently the national side is playing three match ODI series against England has been criticised for their dismal performance and if the reports are to believed the biggest reason behind the downfall is domestic cricket is not updated as per current modern standards of the game.
