SKYESPORTS TO HOST CS:GO AND DOTA 2 LAN EVENTS IN MUMBAI

Skyesports will host CS:GO and DOTA 2 LAN tournaments by the end of this year in December. The announcement was made today on Skyesports’s Twitter handle as the said event would be part of Skyesports 4.0 visionary. Powered by AMD, Skyesports are to bring CS:GO and DOTA 2 on the main stage as the former titles would return after the pandemic.

Skyesports, who recently expanded to South East Asia by partnering up with Ampverse are about to bring back CSGO and Dota 2 LAN events into the Indian Esports circuit as the titles are making a comeback after the pandemic. Skyesports has been making a name for itself by hosting multiple events featuring various competitive titles both nationally and internationally.

CSGO and Dota 2 have a sizeable user base in India but they, as competitive titles, are not popular in India as they are overseas. With AMD Skyesports Championship 4.0, both titles may attract gamers in India and allow them to explore more competitive titles.

DOTA 2

The official announcement reads, “It is time to revive & bring back the OG sensational games! Get ready to summon your squad, the time has arrived! The most awaited AMD Skyesports Championship 4.0 is back. Two games that revolutionized esports in the world – CS: GO & DOTA are back on the scene now in India.

Shiva Marvel Nandy, CEO and Founder of Skyesports, officially announced last week on November 18th that the next AMD Skyesports Championship 4.0 has been registered under the ‘Professional Tournaments’ category of Dota 2.

Though the prize pool for the Dota 2 event has not been formally confirmed, the information that has been provided indicates that the prize money is expected to be around $15,000.

The CS:GO and Dota 2 tournaments are set to feature a combined total prize pool of $25,000 USD and will be taking place on LAN in front of a live audience in Mumbai sometime around December. Meanwhile, Shiva Marvel Nandy CEO of Skyesports has announced that Skyesports will further invest a minimum of $500,000 US next year for the growth of CS:GO an Dota 2 within India.

Eventhough both the geams failed to satisfy the majority of Indian esports audience. There is still a considerable userbase that plays these titles on a regular basis in the country, organizers in the past have failed to convert them into viewers of the local competitive scene.

Skyesports has announced that they would invest $1 million into prize pools of upcoming online and LAN events throughout 2022 and 2023 as part of their collaboration with Ampverse. With the recent announcement of the Championship 4.0 tournament, both CS: GO and DOTA 2 will arouse nostalgia in the community.

Skyesports also announced the Pokemon Unite India Open  tournament earlier this month. The tournament will boast a prize pool of Rs 22,50,000 (roughly $27,165) which recently concluded its registration phase. Pokemon Unite India Open 2022 is also set to take place as a LAN line event alongside the AMD Skyesports Championship 4.0.

Skyesports has gained momentum and popularity with the Valorant scene both in India and global countries. With their recent expansion into the SEA region, the company is picking up the pace to become one of the largest entities in the esports industry globally. The two titles they included in the Championship 4.0 have taken the Indian gaming community by an amaze.

The AMD Skyesports Championship 4.0 will hit the shores of Mumbai in December 2022 and is expected to set up a massive opportunity for the talent lurking in the faces of Counter-Strike and DOTA 2.
