After getting snubbed from entering the Indian national side for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar trophy, Sarfaraz Khan has fired back at his critics with a century earlier today. During the Ranji Trophy Group B match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Sarfaraz Khan smacked a 155 ball 125.
How better should a player like #SarfarazKhan perform to 'catch the eyeballs' of the national selectors ? #century#BCCI #sarfarazkhan #sarfrazkhanazmi @BCCI @sarfankhan97 pic.twitter.com/j9jDsyPW9O

His knock has come after the BCCI announced the 17-man squad for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar trophy against Australia. The Right-handed batter has been scoring runs on a consistent basis in the domestic circuit for the past few years but has failed to find himself in the Indian team.
At the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi won the toss and elected to bowl first. Prithvi Shaw and Musheer Khan opened the innings for Mumbai but they lost 4 wickets in a quick succession. Then came Sarfaraz Khan to bat. He partnered with Prasad Pawar for a 144-run stand.
Sarfaraz took a little time to settle in but once he got set there was no stopping the 25-year-old. He started smashing the bowlers one by one and scored 100 right after lunch. Prasad Pawar stood strong with him but Delhi’s bowling unit responded strongly and bowled the team out for 293 at the end of day 1.
His response will definitely raise the eyebrows of the selectors who had left him out of the 17-man probable squad. Fans on Twitter are heavily criticizing BCCI’s decision and condemning their decision to decline him from International cricket.
Sarfaraz Khan has been a standout in the current Ranji Trophy season, but he was similarly impressive in the previous one. Sarfaraz scored 982 runs at an average of 122.75 in the 2021-22 Ranji Trophy, including four centuries and two half-centuries. His maximum possible score was 275. Meanwhile, he has 431 runs at an average of 107.75 and a strike rate of 70.54 in the current edition, with two centuries and one half-century.
Delhi Vs Mumbai: yet another century by Sarfraz Khan. He now averages more than 80 in 1st class cricket, second only to legendary Bradman. Will any selector answer why he isnβt good enough to be in India squad? Why no press conferences by selectors to explain choices? @BCCI

Another century for #SarfarazKhan
Canβt ignore him for too long. You have to take notice of how he is dominating domestic cricket at the moment.
