Najam Sethi, who is leading a panel overseeing the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) affairs until a chairman is chosen, claimed that the Pakistan Super League (PSL) was the “biggest T20 brand” after the Indian Premier League (IPL).
“I hope you will appreciate that over the years, PSL is the biggest T20 brand in the private sector after the IPL,” Sethi said in remarks during a news conference in Lahore.
He claimed that ”demonstrated by the fact that “three to four” other T20 leagues were already underway around the world, and that “every single one of them had organised their leagues before us.” Despite this they are aware that they might not be able to compete with us in terms of status and worth if they compete with us.
”This proves that our PSL is succeeding. Previous administrations have maintained this pace, and we will do the same”, he continued.
Although, per match media rights value of PSL are very low if compared to IPL AND Women’s IPL. The first edition of Women’s IPL will go on floors this year and PSL is going to have its eighth season, despite this, the media rights value of PSL are very low infront of Women’s IPL. Whereas, Men’s IPL stands very in these terms.
