Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is ‘likely to leave’ Old Trafford in the summer if one goes by the reports of Sky Germany.
The 2018 World Cup winner has appeared in just seven Premier League games this season as he continues to battle an ankle injury.
It is reported that La Liga giants Real Madrid and Serie A heavyweights Juventus, both, would be interested in signing Pogba – although Sky Germany insists that the recently crowned Spanish Super Cup champions are his preferred choice.
Despite that interest, Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has recently claimed that his clients want to win trophies and be successful with the Red Devils. Raiola has further stated that Pogba has already rejected an approach from Real.
“Paul wants to be successful and happy and wants to win prizes and he would love to do that with Manchester United,” Raiola told The Telegraph.
“Okay there was a big interest from Real Madrid and Manchester didn’t let him go.
“We didn’t make a fuss about it and he didn’t make a fuss about it because I work in accordance with the player.”
The red Devils are said to want to keep the french international until the end of the season at least, with a lack of replacements available to purchase in the winter transfer window.
They are believed to want a fee in the region of £150m for the 26-year-old, who is currently under contract at Old Trafford until 2021.
The Frenchman, who was a United youth graduate, signed a five-year contract with the Manchester-based club when he rejoined, a deal contains the option to extend it by a further year until 2022.
Pogba had said last summer that he was thinking of leaving the club for “a new challenge” and Raiola also said “everyone knows the willingness of Paul to move on” – but a transfer did not materialize.
Paul Pogba is not expected to return for a Manchester United game before the completion of the winter break as Pogba had an operation to repair his right ankle in Amsterdam last week and is not scheduled to make his comeback before the end of the month, or in the Premier League visit of Wolves on February 1.
