Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard CJ McCollum is very optimistic about the NBA season and hopes that the season resumes as early as possible. He opened up on the ongoing situation in the United States and the suspended NBA season as he said that he is focussing on his fitness and ready to play whenever the organizers start the season again.

“I’m still working out so I’m holding out hope that we’re going to be able to come back at some point. Honestly, I have no idea, I think it’s a coin flip. I’m continuing to put my head down and work as if we’re returning here shortly.

I think that’s how you have to approach a situation like this. There’s 24 hours in a day, plenty of time for me to still get some work in, work on other sectors and things I’m interested in,” McCollum said to the NBA.com.

Earlier, McCollum had also shown some hopes of the season to resume early this summer as he said he hadn’t taken a basketball shot in the last two weeks. And as per the reports, the only Trail Blazer players who are currently allowed to enter the practice facility are Jusuf Nurkic, Zach Collins, Rodney Hood as they are still receiving the rehab.

The NBA season was suspended on March 11, when Rudy Gobert was tested positive of the coronavirus. The Blazers were in ninth place in the Western Conference standings with 16 games left in the regular season before the postseason.
