Men’s Hockey World Cup: List of all winners starting from 1971 onwards that we must know in detail

Men's Hockey World Cup

The 15th edition of  Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023 is currently in progress at Bhuvneshwar, Orissa, and India is off to a strong start after defeating Spain 2-0 to open the tournament.

In Birsa Munda Stadium, they will face off against England before travelling on to Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Orissa.

Twenty games will be played in the recently  built stadium, and 24 games, including the semi-final and championship, will be played in Kalinga Stadium.

The irony is that Pakistan hasn’t qualified for this world cup despite winning the trophy a maximum of four times since the famed competition began in 1971.

Numerous Pakistani hockey players have criticised their national association for failing to take action to resurrect the sport in the nation.

The teams who have won the World Cup thus far are listed below in the following format:

India has had a strong start to the current world cup, and they must win their remaining matches against England and Wales to take first place in the standings.

This year’s marquee event will follow a different format based on a league stage and cross over stage where the teams that finish in second and third place will compete at the conclusion to become the second team from the pool.

India will play their match against Rourkela’s Birsa Munda Stadium, which can accommodate 21,000 spectators. 25 LED screens have been set up in various areas so that hockey fans may watch the game.
