Watch: Mbappe’s outrageous Rabona kick which almost went in

The 21-year-old French international is already considered one of the best players of football in the world. He has been the talk of the town since his arrival at Parc des Princes. In the recently concluded Ballon d’Or, 2019, the player finished sixth. It should be considered as one of the greatest as the top spots were fought between Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Mesi, Virgil van Dijk, Salah, etc.

Kylian Mbappe is the second most expensive player in the world footballing history as he cost around a fee of £166 million when he was transferred from AS Monaco to Paris St-Germain.  However, the money is considered as well spent as the striker/winger scored 79 goals in his 107 appearances.

According to the football fans around the world, he is expected to leave Paris and France and join the elite clubs of Europe. And this might be true considering the thrashing of St Etienne involved super skill shows from Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe scored one goal and assisted Mauro Icardi in the  League Cup game on Wednesday.  Moreover, everything for the player came with ease. Also, one could see the player attempting a 78th-minute Rabona kick from outside the box.

PSG was already 6-0 up in the game. The incisive pass from Edinson Cavani was dummied by Neymar and Mbappe accepted it gleefully. The player had a thing in mind to attempt the Rabona. The player attempted that on the first touch itself. However, to his avail, the ball as agonizingly close to the net.

If the ball would have found the back of the net, it would have been one of the greatest goals of all time scored in the history of French football. However, it couldn’t but the dreadful look of defenders concluded it all.

On the same note, Kylian Mbappe is not the first player to attempt the Rabona from outside the box. Previously, Lillywhtes’ Erik Lamela attempted and pulled a belter during Europa League victory against Asteras Tripolis.

When asked regarding his next move after his contract expires in 2022, the French World Cup winner was in no mood to talk. He told;

“For now, I am ready to play football,”

“It is January, it’s the start of the final sprint where there are titles to play for. Therefore it’s not the moment to make waves.”

But one thing is for sure. Whenever the World Cup-winning player moves out of the French capital, he is expected to break the transfer amount of Neymar which PSG shelled out.
