Justin Langer hits back at all the allegations around his coaching tactic

Australian coach Justin Langer found himself amid all controversy after Kangaroos lost twice against Men in Blue in their own backyard.

As per the reports from Sydney Morning Herald, Australian players are not happy with Langer’s approach of coaching. Players have not been able to cope up with his intensity and emotional shifts, and he has also been reported to micromanage the team.

An incident from Gabba has confirmed the allegations as India defeated Australia at Brisbane after 33 years. Also reports inside the dressing room stated that he didn’t allow one player to snack on a toasted sandwich.

Langer reacted to all these reports and added that his relationship with the players is not affected at all despite the result. He is there to coach players and it’s a high pressure job and he is not there to make players laugh all the time.

“If players just want someone to tickle their stomachs all the time, then I’m not doing my job,” he added.

Langer coaches Australian team in all three formats from last few years also he held the responsibility of operating selection panel too.  Langer has denied all such allegations which is surfacing on the media.

“There are stresses to the job. It’s a big job,” he added.

“It’s actually the opposite of what happens,” Langer said. “I never talk about statistics to the bowlers, ever. I don’t go to any of the bowlers’ meetings. That’s what the bowlers’ coach is meant to be doing. I don’t do any of that. I never ever speak to any of the bowlers about any of that sort of stuff. And the learnings of the last few months are I should start looking at that more,” he concluded.

Australia will competing next against South Africa in Proteas backyard and looking to win the series against the latter to cement a spot in top two to play World Test Championship final scheduled in June 2021 at Lords.
