Balaji has played for three IPL franchises (Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Kings XI Punjab) and has been fairly consistent for all of them. Even after all of this, he is still one of the most effective spinners in the game. He has even opened the innings for his franchise KKR and has been a pinch hitter in recent seasons. Sunil has 122 wickets in 110 matches with a strike rate of 20.96. He has been retained by KKR ahead of the 2020 IPL auction and with Chris Lynn release he might even slot in as their permanent opener.
