India Shines at ISSF World Cup 2025 in Buenos Aires with 8 Medals, 4 Gold

India wrapped up an exciting campaign at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup 2025 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with a total of eight medals. The team won four gold medals, two silver medals, and two bronze medals. This strong performance placed India in second position overall, just behind China, who led the standings with 11 medals, including five gold, three silver, and three bronze, according to Olympics.com.

On the final day of the tournament, India added a bronze medal to their tally in the 10m air pistol mixed team event. Saurabh Chaudhary and Suruchi Singh teamed up to defeat Manu Bhaker and Ravinder Singh with a score of 16-8 in the bronze medal playoff. This victory secured their spot on the podium and added to India’s impressive medal count.

Interestingly, Manu Bhaker, a two-time Olympic medalist, already has a bronze from the 2024 Paris Olympics in the same 10m air pistol mixed team event, but with a different partner, Sarabjot Singh. However, Sarabjot did not compete in Buenos Aires. During the qualifiers for the mixed team event, Saurabh and Suruchi scored 581-26x, with Suruchi contributing 291 and Saurabh adding 290, earning them third place. Meanwhile, Manu (287) and Ravinder (292) scored a combined total that placed them fourth.

The gold medal match in the 10m air pistol mixed team event saw two Chinese teams compete. Ma Qianke and Zhang Yifan, who scored 582-23x in the qualifiers, faced Yao Qianxun and Hu Kai, who scored 582-17x. Qianke and Yifan won the gold with a final score of 16-10.

Gold Medal at ISSF World Cup 2025

India’s four gold medals came from some standout performances across different events. First, Sift Kaur Samra won gold in the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions, showcasing her skill and focus. Next, Rudrankksh Patil claimed gold in the men’s 10m air rifle, adding to India’s success. Suruchi Singh, who also won bronze in the mixed team event, secured gold in the women’s 10m air pistol. Finally, Vijayveer Sidhu took home gold in the men’s 25m rapid-fire pistol, rounding out India’s golden haul.

In addition to the golds, India earned two silver medals. Esha Singh won silver in the women’s 25m pistol, showing her consistency. Meanwhile, Arya Borse and Rudrankksh Patil teamed up to win silver in the mixed 10m air rifle event, further proving Rudrankksh’s versatility.

For the bronze medals, apart from Saurabh and Suruchi’s mixed team success, Chain Singh won bronze in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions. These medals added valuable points to India’s overall standing.

Manu Bhaker at ISSF World Cup 2025

Manu Bhaker, despite her reputation as a top shooter, did not win a medal in Buenos Aires. In the women’s 10m air pistol, she finished 13th in the qualifiers. In the 25m pistol event, she reached the medal round but ended up in sixth place.

Two of India’s Olympic medalists, Sarabjot Singh and Swapnil Kusale, did not participate in the Buenos Aires World Cup. Swapnil won a bronze at the 2024 Paris Olympics, but his absence didn’t stop India from performing strongly.

Overall, India’s performance at the ISSF World Cup 2025 was a reason to celebrate. With eight medals, including four golds, the team showed they are among the best in the world. Although China took the top spot, India’s second-place finish proves their shooters are ready to compete at the highest level.
