IND Vs AUS 3rd ODI : Surya Kumar Yadav's Golden Ducks calls for Indian management to find a suitable player in the Middle-order!

Team India’s quest of glory in major ICC tournaments will be put to test Twice this year. First during the ICC World Test Championship final against Australia on June 7 and then the ICC 50-over Cricket world cup which starts from October 5.

Its been over a decade since India became Champions. The Champions trophy in 2013 at England was the last time the Men in Blues won something significant and since then they only have bilateral series wins and number 1 rankings to show.

2023 is going to be a very crucial year for India in all regards. This could well be the year where India makes it or breaks it. But how will they make it until the time they look into the serious matters. In the 3-match ODI series against Australia, the Batting order was exposed in front of a quality bowling attack.

In all 3 of those matches, the Men in Blues won the first tie and lost the following 2. If we look at their performance on all of those matches, then it was not convincing at all. All thanks to KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja’s unbeaten partnership, India somehow chased down 188 runs.

Then at Vishakhapatnam and Chennai, the middle-order saw a major collapse and Surya Kumar Yadav in specific is being questioned for his form, technique and everything you’d expect a cricketer to face.

The 32-year-old has now set a record of his own, something which he will not be proud of at all. 3 consecutive Golden ducks in a row and this batter is one of the probables for the World cup? How much of backing will Surya get and for how long will other players remain in the sidelines?

His talent and ability in T20Is is good but his technique will harm India in ODIs. And during the world cup, the Men in Blue might get to play teams like Bangladesh, Afghanistan or weaker sides like Zimbabwe among other but what will happen in the big matches?

Let’s just recollect Surya Kumar Yadav’s performance in the only major tournament he played. Barring his 68 against South Africa for a losing cause, Yadav only has big scores against Minnows. Does that make him a big match player?

In the other 2 big matches against Pakistan in Group stages and England in the Semi-finals, SKY did not even cross the 20-run mark as he got out for 14 and 15 respectively.
