After fighting till the end against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 2, one of the well-balanced Delhi Capitals have made it to their first-ever finals in the history of the Indian Premier League. The team will face Mumbai Indians in the finals at Dubai International Stadium and will look to clinch their maiden title on Tuesday. Ricky Ponting has managed his side to reach the finals with some serious decision making on Sunday.

Delhi Capitals started the season on a brighter note by raking successive victories. However, the team lost its way in the middle and lost four in a row. However, they made it to second place on the points table with a victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore. Though they lost the game against Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 1, they made it to the finals with an all-round performance.

Marcus Stoinis and Shimron Hetmeyer supported Shikhar Dhawan in batting whereas Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje were supported well by Stoinis. The whole game revolved around Marcus Stoinis as he picked the crucial wickets in the death overs. The team has to fire in unison if they are to clinch the title from Mumbai Indians on Tuesday.

With the appearance of the first-ever final for most of the squad, the team has to keep calm and composure. Here are the top three picks for Delhi Capitals against Mumbai Indians at Dubai International Stadium:

#1) Shikhar Dhawan

Shikhar Dhawan Best Opener in IPL

The left-handed batsman has found his form ahead of the Tour Down Under which will be in the upcoming months in Australia. The batting conundrum had affected the team but against SRH, Shikhar Dhawan played a big knock. He scored 78 from 50 deliveries which laid the foundation for Delhi’s innings. The team posted a total of 189 which helped the team to defeat the Sunrisers.

The player has amassed 603 runs in 16 games and has one more game to go in IPL 2020. If the player is able to score 67 more, the left-handed batsman will win the Orange Cap and probably the title too.

#2) Marcus Stoinis

Marcus Stoinis

Everyone had written off the Delhi Capitals’ opening batting line-up but the team surprised with a combination of Marcus Stoinis and Shikhar Dhawan. From the word go, Stoinis took the SRH bowlers and scored runs. His 37 of 28 deliveries set the tone for the rest of the innings. In the bowling too, the player claimed three wickets in three overs which included Williamson’s too. The player will be one of the top three picks for Delhi Capitals on Tuesday.

#3) Kagiso Rabada

If one player has to be named for saving the day against Abdul Samad‘s onslaught, it is Kagiso Rabada. The youngster took on every bowler and Rabada wasn’t spared either. The player got hit for the six before he got dismissed. Running for the Purple Cap, Rabada has 29 wickets from 16 games. With one more game to go, the player will be looking to win both Purple Cap and first-ever trophy too. He will be one of the top three picks for Delhi Capitals at Dubai International Stadium.
