The ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup’s inaugural edition was concluded a few days back. The cup was won by the Indian women’s under-19 team as they beat England women’s under-19 team in the final which was a one-sided affair.
The ICC announced the team of the tournament today for the ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup. The team features three Indians, three English players, and a player each from New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.

Let us have a look at the performances of these players individually.
- Shweta Sehrawat (India) – She was the leading run-scorer in the tournament as her bat roared during the World Cup. Shweta scored 297 runs in 7 innings at an average of 99. She won India matches single-handedly and batted with immaculate maturity.
- Grace Scrivens (England) – Grace Scrivens was the player of the tournament as she played a huge role in England reaching the final. She was the second highest run-scorer as she had 293 runs to her name and she also took 9 wickets in just 7 games. She was a perfect example of a captain leading from the front.
- Shafali Verma (India) – The Indian under-19 captain did not score too many runs but had huge impact in India’s wins throughout the tournament. Shafali was the third highest run-scorer in the tournament as she scored 172 runs in 7 innings. She also tried her hand with the ball in every match and was very economical and gave India wickets at crucial junctures.
- Georgia Plimmer (New Zealand) – Plimmer was again one of the top 5 run-scorers in the tournament and played a key role in her team’s journey till the semi-finals. She scored 155 runs in the world cup with an average of more than 50.
- Dewmi Vihanga (Sri Lanka) – She was the best player for the Sri Lankan team in the whole tournament as she held the Lankan bowling lineup together. She herself took 9 wickets in just 5 innings and was one of the best bowlers in the tournament.
- Shorna Akter (Bangladesh) – Shorna Akter was Bangladesh’s star in the tournament who scored more than 150 runs in 5 innings with an average of 50+.
- Karabo Meso (South Africa) – Meso did not score much runs but was the best wicket-keeper in the tournament and hence was a part of the ICC team of the tournament.
- Parshavi Chopra (India) – Indian women’s cricket found a great leg-spinner in the World Cup in Parshavi Chopra. She was an absolute star at the tournament picking up 11 wickets in just 6 innings. She was one of the major reasons India won the trophy.
- Hannah Baker (England) – Another leg-spinner who was magnificent at the World Cup is Hannah Baker. She took 10 wickets in 6 innings and was England’s best bowler in the tournament.
- Ellie Anderson (England) – Ellie is another England bowler who made her way into the team of the tournament with her magical performances in the World Cup. She made impactful performances and took 8 wickets in 5 innings in the tournament.
- Maggie Clark (Australia) – Maggie Clark was the highest wicket-taker in the tournament as she took 12 wickets in just 5 innings and was absolutely phenomenal in all the matches. She showed great potential and is one for the future.
- Anosha Nasir (Pakistan) – Pakistan’s Anosha Nasir was selected to be the 12th player in this team of the tournament. She took 10 wickets in 5 games and was one of the top 5 highest wicket-takers of the tournament.
