ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026: Complete Details and Match Schedule
The tenth edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup is a very big cricket event happening in 2026. Specifically, the matches will start on June 12 and will end on July 5. During this time, 12 women’s cricket teams will play many games to win the top prize.
The 12 Cricket Teams
For the 2026 tournament, 12 countries are sending their teams to play. Getting a place in the World Cup takes a lot of hard work. First, eight teams already had their places secured from past events. Next, four more teams recently won their places to join the main event.
These four newly added teams are:
- Bangladesh
- Ireland
- Scotland
- Netherlands
Because these four teams played very well in their earlier qualifying games, they get to join the other eight teams. Overall, having 12 teams means there will be many games over the three weeks of the tournament.
The Group Divisions
Before the games begin, the organizers put the 12 teams into two smaller lists called groups. Each group has exactly six teams. This makes it very easy to plan the matches. Teams will play games against the other teams in their own group to get points.
Group 1
The first group has teams from different parts of the world. The teams in Group 1 are:

Group 2
The second group also has six strong teams. The teams in Group 2 are:
- West Indies

Important Opening Matches
The very first game of the tournament is always a special day. On June 12, 2026, the England women’s cricket team will play against Sri Lanka. This opening match will happen at a famous cricket ground called Edgbaston. Also, the game will start late at night for people watching in India, at 23:00 IST.
A few days later, there is another very big match. On June 14, the India cricket team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, will play against Pakistan. These two countries have a very long history of playing cricket together. This game will also be at Edgbaston. However, it will start earlier, at 19:00 IST.
Venues and Locations
The games will take place in several different cities. The people running the event chose very famous cricket grounds in England for the matches.
Firstly, Edgbaston will host the opening games. Secondly, teams will travel to play at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground. Furthermore, other matches will happen at the Hampshire Bowl and Headingley. Later in the month, players will also visit the Bristol County Ground. Finally, the biggest games at the end of the tournament will take place at The Oval and Lord’s Cricket Ground.
Following the First Week of Games
The first week of the tournament is very busy. Starting from June 12, there are games almost every single day. On June 13 alone, there are three matches. Scotland plays Ireland in the afternoon. Then, Australia plays South Africa. Finally, the West Indies play New Zealand late at night.
The next day, June 14, Bangladesh plays the Netherlands before the India versus Pakistan game. After a short break on June 15, the games start again on June 16 with two matches at the Hampshire Bowl. New Zealand plays Sri Lanka, and England plays Ireland.
Moreover, June 17 is also a very full day with three matches. Australia plays Bangladesh, India plays the Netherlands, and South Africa plays Pakistan. On June 18, the West Indies play against Scotland.
Following the Second Week of Games
Moving into the second week, the teams will try hard to win and collect more points. On June 19, New Zealand plays against Ireland. Next, June 20 brings three more matches. Australia plays the Netherlands, Pakistan plays Bangladesh, and England plays Scotland.
On June 21, the West Indies face Sri Lanka, and South Africa faces India. After a rest day on June 22, the action returns on June 23 with three games. New Zealand plays Scotland, Sri Lanka plays Ireland, and Australia plays Pakistan.
Additionally, June 24 features a very big match between England and the West Indies at Lord’s Cricket Ground. On June 25, India will play against Bangladesh, and South Africa will play against the Netherlands.
The Final Group Matches
The final week of the group games is very important. Every point matters here. On June 26, Sri Lanka will play against Scotland. On June 27, there are three games again. Pakistan plays the Netherlands, the West Indies play Ireland, and England plays New Zealand.
The very last day of group matches is June 28. On this day, South Africa plays Bangladesh, and Australia plays India. After June 28, the group games are officially over. Therefore, the teams will get a small break before the semi-finals start.
The Semi-Finals and the Final Match
After all the group games are over, the teams with the most points will move forward. The top teams will play in the semi-finals.
There are two semi-final games. The first one will happen on June 30, 2026. This match will be at The Oval, starting at 19:00 IST. Next, the second semi-final will be on July 2, 2026. This game is also at The Oval, but it starts later at 23:00 IST.
The winners of these two games will go to the final. The final game of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 will be on July 5. It will take place at Lord’s Cricket Ground. The match will start at 19:00 IST. The winner of this game will take the trophy home.
