Jason Holder, on Tuesday, attained the highest rating point by any West Indies bowler in 20 years, as per the latest ICC Test rankings. Holder, who picked seven wickets including a haul of six for 42 in the first innings, has attained career-best of 862 rating points.

Jason Holder is all set to surpass the record of former Pakistan skipper, Imran Khan for maximum five-wicket hauls. Imran Khan has picked 12 five-wicket hauls in his career.  Jason Holder is currently at the second spot, having claimed nine five-wicket hauls in his career.

With his consistent display of bowling, Jason Holder is likely to break his record in the next couple of years.

Skipper Virat Kohli remains second in the list of batsmen behind Steve Smith, while Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane remain seventh and ninth respectively. Jasprit Bumrah is the only Indian bowler in the top-10 bowler ranking, sitting at the seventh spot.

Holder retained 35th position among batsmen in the Test format and has also reached a career-best tally of 485 points in the all-rounders’ list.

The West Indies skipper has enjoyed a tremendous boost in his bowling rankings after his impressive show in the first Test match against England in Southampton.

It was a clinical performance by the Caribbean side as several players step up in a crucial game which includes names like Jermaine Blackwood, Shanon Gabriel, Kemar Roach, and Jason Holder.

Other England players which moved up in the rankings include left-handed opener Rory Burns, who is in the top 30 for the first time after scores of 30 and 42, while middle-order batsman Zak Crawley is in the top 100 after accumulating 86 runs in the match.

Jermaine Blackwood’s superb second-innings knock of 95 has helped him advance 14 slots to 58th position among batsmen while Shane Dowrich is at a career-best 37th position after scores of 61 and 20.

It will be interesting to see how England make a comeback in the second Test Match especially after the return of Joe Root, who was unavailable in the first Test due to the birth of his second child.
