How many of the Top 10 men seeds in the Australian Open are left after Round 2 in the league?

We have seen many upsets till now in this edition of the Australian Open and if we go by what has happened till now, it won’t be surprising at all to see a few more upsets. Young players have risen to the occasion and have eliminated some big names from the competition.

Here, we are going to see how many of the top 10 seeds in the Australian Open are now left in the race to the ultimate prize.

The top 10 seeds (from 1 to 10) before the beginning of the event announced by the AO committee were –

Rafael Nadal (Spain), Casper Ruud (Norway), Stefanos Tsitsipas (Greece), Novak Djokovic (Serbia), Andrey Rublev (Russia), Felix Auger-Aliassime (Canada), Daniil Medvedev (Russia), Taylor Fritz (USA), Holger Rune (Denmark), Hubert Hurkacz (Poland).

Only seven players out of these ten are left in the race to the title after the conclusion of the second round today at the Australian Open 2023. We have seen many upsets till now but three of them have been big.

Spaniard Rafael Nadal was defeated by American player Mackenzie McDonald in straight sets on Wednesday 6-4, 6-4, 7-5 which is being termed as the biggest upset.

Casper Ruud was defeated by Jenson Brooksby of USA today by 6-3, 7-5, 6-7, 6-2 at the Rod Laver Arena.

The third big upset was the defeat of Taylor Fritz against local Australian player Alexei Popyrin 6-7, 7-6, 6-4, 6-7, 6-2.

Having seen these matches, we can expect more young players to do some more upsets before we go into the last stages of the tournament.
