How Many ICC Photoshoots Has Rohit Sharma Done?
Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja recently gave fans a peek behind the scenes of ICC event preparations. A video posted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) showed the two stars on their way to a photoshoot for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025. During their journey, they chatted about how many times they’ve had to do these “content days” for the ICC.
Rohit Sharma revealed that this Champions Trophy photoshoot marks his 15th ICC Media Day. He’s been part of numerous T20 World Cups, ODI World Cups, and now, his third Champions Trophy. He even did the math, counting nine T20 World Cups, three ODI World Cups, and the three Champions Trophies.
But then, Rohit remembered something important. He revised his number upwards. He added the World Test Championship (WTC) finals to his count. India played in both the 2019-2021 and 2021-2023 WTC finals. So, the final count of these events for Rohit is 17.
“17 baar bulaya unhone, yeh sab karne (they’ve called me 17 times to do this),” Rohit said in the BCCI video, laughing. It shows how much dedication and patience these players need for these promotional activities.
Jadeja mentioned that he’s been to almost the same number of these events as Rohit. The only ones he missed were the T20 World Cups in 2007 and 2012. This gives an idea of his long career in the Indian team.

Shubman Gill, another member of the Indian team, also shared his experience. He said that this was his third ICC Media Day. He counted the 2024 T20 World Cup, the 2023 ODI World Cup, and the Champions Trophy. Like Rohit, Gill initially forgot about the WTC final. He later corrected himself and said it was his fifth ICC event.
It’s clear from Rohit’s comments that these media days are a regular part of their lives. They understand the importance of these events, even if they can be tiring. It shows their professionalism and commitment to the sport.
These ICC media days are important for promoting the tournament and getting fans excited. Players participate in photoshoots, interviews, and other promotional activities. This helps build hype around the event and reach a wider audience. While it can be time-consuming for the players, it’s a necessary part of modern sports.
Rohit Sharma’s 17 ICC photoshoots are a small example of the dedication and hard work that goes into being a professional cricketer. It’s not just about playing on the field; it’s also about fulfilling various other obligations. These players are role models for millions, and their commitment to the game is truly inspiring.
