Guild Achieves Remarkable Feat: Defeating Ragnaros in WoW Hardcore Mode in Record Time

Defeating Ragnaros

World of Warcraft Classic Hardcore started on August 24. Some players are finding it tough in the early parts, but others are already beating tough bosses in raids.

On September 4, just 11 days after the game mode began, the North American guild Frontier finished the entire Molten Core and defeated Ragnaros.

They started the run only hours before and mostly had Warriors, Mages, Rogues, and Hunters in their group. While they still had a few Warlocks, they didn’t bring many Paladins or Druids.

If you’re not familiar with WoW Classic raids, Molten Core is the first one and has 10 bosses. Most of the raid is easy, but you need a special item, Aqual Quintessence, to unlock Majordomo Executus and then Ragnaros. To get this item, you must complete a quest chain starting with Duke Hydraxis and earn Honored reputation with the Hydraxian Waterlords.

Some well-known streamers like Jokerd and Crix, along with Vitochie, who was the first to reach level 60 on WoW Hardcore servers, were part of this group.

The whole run took about three hours, including forming the group, traveling, and defeating weaker enemies. They did a great job and had good gear to beat the final boss.

For those unfamiliar with WoW Classic raids, Molten Core is the initial, 10-boss raid that poses various challenges. However, unlocking the final bosses, Majordomo Executus and Ragnaros, requires a unique item called Aqual Quintessence. To obtain this item, players must embark on a quest chain initiated by Duke Hydraxis and gain at least Honored reputation with the Hydraxian Waterlords.

This successful raid was led by prominent figures in the WoW streaming community, including Jokerd, Crix, and Vitochie, the first player to hit level 60 on the official WoW Hardcore servers.

The entire raid was completed in around three hours, including preparations, travel, and clearing weaker enemies. Despite their methodical approach and well-equipped characters, they managed to defeat the final boss with relative ease.

The achievement by the Frontier guild in such a short time after the WoW Classic Hardcore launch speaks to their exceptional teamwork and knowledge of the game’s mechanics, showcasing the enduring appeal of this classic MMO.
