Former England Coach Andy Flower Joins Australia as Assistant Coach for WTC Final Clash Against India
Andy Flower, a former England coach who presently serves as the head coach of the IPL team Lucknow Super Giants, has joined the Australian team as an assistant coach ahead of the World Test Championship final matchup against India, which will begin on Wednesday at The Oval. In the days running up to the WTC final against the No. 1 Test side in the world, India, Flower, who led England from 2009 to 2014, joined the Australian camp in a consulting capacity. However, he is not anticipated to be present when the Ashes series gets underway on June 16 at Edgbaston.

The Oval will host its first Test in its 143-year history in June, and India and Australia will face off in the second edition of the WTC final.
Flower is anticipated to join the Australian team later in the Ashes, according to ESPNCricinfo.
One of England’s most successful coaches, Flower led his team to three straight Ashes victories in this millennium, with victories in 2009 and 2013 at home and, most notably, Down Under in 2010–11. Flower is a former captain of Zimbabwe and a wicketkeeper-batter.
The England squad led by Andrew Strauss had won the Ashes in Australia for the first time in 24 years with Flower in charge of the coaching staff.
The addition of Flower to the coaching staff will further raise the stakes for Pat Cummins‘ team as they attempt to win the Ashes series in England for the first time since 2001.
